I have no Onions

When clearing the veg plot for onions earlier in the year I found loads of seedling onions, which I spread out and replanted. they have grown well but I was becoming concerned that I couldn't see any bulbs forming at the base.
Half a dozen of them have started forming flower spikes so I pulled them up this afternon and ---------- they are garlic !!!!

So we have dozens of healthy garlic plants and not an onion to our names
It's a good job that we really like garlic and use a lot of it lol

My very first garden was quite big by suburban standards and when I moved in it was ALL neglected flower bed.
I spent 3 days on my hands and knees with a trowel weeding it all. With the grumpy old man who lived next door peeping through his curtains at me.
When I had finally finished, I straightened up and looked lovingly at my work.At which point, aforesaid grumpy came outside and pointed out that the little silver grey plants that I had carefully left behind were weeds. I had never come across it before and assumed that it was some sort of herbaceous plant.
Why couldn't he have told me when I was part way through haha
