Herbal medicine awareness week 20-27th June 2009 - two walk

To celebrate Herbal Medicine Awareness week this year I shall lead two walks to help you find out more about herbal medicine and the useful herbs that grow around us.

1. On Sunday 21st June 10am-noon, I will lead a walk from the rangers hut at Balmedie beach and walk northwards along the back of the dunes
2. On old Midsummer eve, Tuesday 23rd June 2-4pm, I will lead a walk from Newmachar Village Hall in a loop including Kingseat

Children and dogs welcome but must be under the control of a responsible adult. Please wear stout footwear and clothing appropriate to the weather on the day. There is a nomimal charge of £2 per adult, £1 for children and concessions for each walk payable on the day. Donations may also be made to the Worldwide Fund for Nature.

how long is the walk, in distance

The Balmedie walk is about 1.5 miles linear but then you need to walk back same distance either retracing steps or along beach so ~3 miles in total.

The Newmachar walk is a loop of about 4.5 or 5 miles but there are places where you can take a short cut back if you get tired or we run out of time.

Sounds great - would love to know more. Don't think I'll be able to make the Sun walk as it's the neeps camping jolly - but might be able to come along on the tue. Will let you know closer to the time if that's ok?

Thanks for letting us know - and if I haven't already said elsewhere    to neeps - it's good to have you around.

Will be good to see you if you can make it on the Tuesday, fine to just turn up on the day.
