Have been trying to use emergency internet dial-up. Have set computer up but it keeps telling me there is a hardware failure. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong ....... please

You don't say what kind of dial up you are trying to use. Is it a normal phone line modem or one of these 3g type modems?

Things to check though, check that the modem is connected to the phone line and PC and that it's turned on, check that the dialup connection you are using is actually set to use that modem (and not another one).

Would probably need a bit more info to help much more though.

If you are using Broadband and need to change to Emergency DialUp you will need to select the DialUp modem when you need to use it.
If you computer is set up to use this modem on dial up it should change over to it.
A broadband modem will not work.

When you enter the emergency number, select the modem to be used with it.
