rhubarb n custard

Hello

Hi, I'm fairly new to Huntly area, been here about a year. I'm just across from the Bin Forest which is great for walks . Got a little one, Fraser, 6 months old - keeps me busy and sleep deprived. I have ambitions for veggie growing on my land but  I think I'll have to wait till the little one is slightly less work and I've had some sleep!
I think NEEPS is a great idea - it's good to hear from like-minded people.
Maria

Wow - someone else from Huntly-ish. Great to have you here. Look forward to seeing you around the forum...and perhaps in person at some point.

Welcome.

I'm sending much sympathy for the sleep deprivation - it's a killer.

At 6 months you could just pop him in a sling on your back to let you tend some veggies. I've done it while mucking out the horses and it certainly gets you fit

Hi, Welcome Aboard

Maybe when you feel ready you could meet some of us locals for a potter and a natter in the forest, with your son and our kids.

Holla rhubarb and custard,

many fine welcomes and mibbe think about getting someone in to do some garden share if you haven't got the time. Mibbe even just to prepare it for later in the season?

You can always get woofers for bed and board or some locals without ground who'll do it for a cut of the produce?

Anyway you've brought the weather with you I see

That has given me food for thought --Sorry to hijack your thread rhubarb abd custard
I have dim recollections of a scheme where people come and work in the country for bed and board and possibly a bit of spending money. It might solve some of my garden problems this year. How do I find them? and has anyone any experience of the scheme either as host or labour?
gussyboy

look up www.wwoof.org.uk ( world wide opportunities on organic farms ). You can register and advertise your needs.

cheers, Gus

Hey Rhubarb and Custard, where for art thou? Have we scared you half to death with thoughts of a 'Neep' invasion. We Huntly-ish folk are becoming quite a crowd.
