welcome to neeps

 to neeps.

Think i know what meadowsweet is now - but have to say i've not foraged for it yet.   . We've picked elder, and made coridal and wine, btut that's about it. I'm thinking of nettle soup - but not being the best of cooks, wonder if the kids will eat my concoction? Also, i can't help thinking that other folk have better eyes and more confidence at id'ing things than me?

Hello Folks

I have been asked to say a few words about what I do. Basically I record and document my own personal foraging activities down here in East Devon on my site/blog.

I've been a full-time forager for the past 3 years, meaning that I eat wild edible plants everyday. I experiment and play. I used to forage as a kid with my Great Aunts, and when I was 19 I met a couple who would take me out down the country lanes harvesting wild food and coming back to their house to prepare it. Then I went AWOL until 5 years ago, when I started re-learning what I had forgotten 25 years ago!

This year I have started running foraging classes locally, more out of demand than my own desire to teach. Some how word got out, and I have people asking me all the time to take them out and show them the wild edibles. When I get a group who are truly keen on learning what they can take into their bones, it's a great buzz.

Foraging is my love and passion and I know it is my life journey. The plant kingdom has called me and I just can't resist. Bloomin' weeds!

We had foraged snacks on the way up Bennachie today. Blaeberries...delic. Must be just the right time for them. Spotted what i think might be Juniper too - but i get the feeling i might be mistaken?

Grand to have you around Robin - will be taking a bit more time to look around your blog recipes soon. Great site.

Hi and welcome from me too

What a great idea running foraging expeditions.. I'd love to do something like that here, especially learning about all the different edible mushrooms / plants / weeds that grown in the woods beside us

Glad you joined
