hmmmm...... I gather from the trailers that it'll be a "warts and all" programme - he was not universally loved!
My own father, who spent a large chunk of WW2 in India, and didn't leave until just before independence did not hold him in high esteem at all - he reckoned that Gandhi knew that there would be a bloodbath when the English left, and he was right!
(He wasn't against Indian freedom at all, he just thought the time was wrong for it)

It'll be interesting to see the programme then. My father was in India too and met Gandhi.
Nobody is perfect so perhaps we will hear the full story for once. Apparently life was very hard for his family because of all the things he believed in.

He used to take his spinning with him everywhere you know. He had a little electric wheel that he put on the table on one film I saw of him.
He always looked like an underweight baby in an over wet nappy to me Aw bless.
