Friday the 13th February, 2009Well it's looking wonderful out there. Was treated to a beautiful view of the moon setting just as the sun was rising.
Cold out there and the roads are very icy - take care if you are going out and about, and stay warm.

I think our wee road was worse this morning that it's been the whole time it had the snow and ice on it. Seems that with the thin layer than was scraped down, it melted then re-froze so it's now VERY slippy.
First foot I took out of the house nearly had me *rse over t*t... luckily I wasn't carrying the basin of water at the time or I might have need to go and change again 
Looks like it should all start thawing out properly today though.

after reading about the guttering and the ice and snow yesterday...i went out to check mine....two sides of the house is fine...the snow slipped off regularly...with no damage....but when i went round to the last side of the house...it hasnt slipped at all...and had built up all quite thick...all the weight is on the pipe....so i took my walking stick to try and eliviate some of the weight...thinking that if i just take some of the heavy ice off...it will help.....Oh how stupid was i!!
Yes it did lift the weight off....the snow is still very much still there and not shifted...but a nice sized bit fell on me!!....think i will wait for the thaw to kick in!!

Yeah, we were letting it do it itself rather than need to be dug out of it if we weren't able to run away quick enough

wish i had thought of that...but my brain doesnt function first thing...the snow soon woke me up though!!

We have that problem  I am trying to keep the dogs and kids away from that area - just incase.
