Friday 6th Feb 2009Well, after a 3 hour car ride getting into Aberdeen yesterday and the fact that I can't get the car off the driveway this morning, means I am sitting, watching the blizzard outside from the comfort of the living room.
Have already been out to the goats and chickens, they seem very unimpressed by "the white stuff". So that seems like out lot for the rest of the day.

School is open today much to the disgust of my son. Daughter is at home ill, OH left for work at 4.15am and now the snow is falling thick and fast!!

Well, James has gone skiing rather trying to get to work today - not sure whether that is any easier! - Got some sunshine now - though had a wee bit more snow as well.

Our lot as off school today again. We keep getting snow flurries that are wiping out footprints. Himself will be driving up from Alloa today, so hopefully he will get here in one piece.

Snow showers here, lots of sunshine too though but it is blowing about a lot.

Our school bus didn't arrived again, but other than our single track being like a skating rink, the main roads were fine. That's the benefit of one of the cars being AWD and the other running a set of winter tyres... neither of them had any issues with the hills and ice

our road must be open because I was shocked by the arrival of a delivery man. He was shocked by the state of our driveway. he didn't even try to come up to the house, he just left his van at the bottom and waked up.
we've got a gentle blizzard at the moment. i've got a feeling that i'll have to dig the driveway out on sunday.

OH's been out with his measuring stick again - apparently the snow is now 15in deep - so we've lost an inch overnight.
It's still snowing here, just small flurries. The wind seems a bit higher & it's picking up some of the lying snow & making snow 'devils'.
Another day watching the world from indoors.

Jimbob got sent home from nursery in Bridge of Don again, OH on way home with him though they left at 1430 and still not home (1645) though could have gone to shops. I'd phone but if he is driving....
Anyway, nothing in Park all day until about 3pm when it just started snowing like there was no tomorrow. I took a drive out to Peterculter and it was insane!
Update: He is home (1704) but had to go Bridge of Don via Oldmeldrum to get home to Drumoak!!!!!!

He certainly might... I left the office at about 2pm... got home about 4.20pm.
Absoluetly at a standstill on the main routes, took a back road and ended up having to push so many people in cars not suited to an icy back road. Thank goodness for AWD... hardly had any issues with the roads myself.
If he hasn't left now, then expect him to be quite late.

We had to go into Aberdeen today. We left at 1pm, spent about one and a half hours shopping then drove straight home, collecting S from college on our way (she walked to the road so we didn't need to go via the college itself). back home.....6.45!!! It took us from 3.20 until 6.30 to get from Tullos to Ellon!!
Nanuq enjoys the snow though..
