food websitedon't know if this is the right site - sorry if I am in the wrong place. Has anybody any experience of the website approvedfood.co.uk it is a site that sells all sorts of food and household items cheaply because they don't always have a very long sell by date. Could be handy for a few people to get together and combine their order. I haven't tried it myself so can't comment one way or the other.

I had a look on there a few days ago and it said they were inundated with orders so maybe they are ok but not bought anything myself. There was quite a wait for your orders to be processed so you may be in for a bit of a wait if you do buy anything.

yes, I think it would be used more for "stock up" items, it would be no good if you were waiting to use the stuff. Can't decide if it must be good as they are so busy, or if there are a lot of mugs like me out there! S.H. it is one of those places that sell what ever they have at the time, packets, tins plus cleaning stuff etc.

I've put in an order, so I will post in a couple of weeks time when (and if) it arrives
I was worried about postage costs but it is a standard charge except for Islands, Inverness and further North. £5.25 for up to 28kg of stuff

think I might put an order in as well, only way to find out what they are like is to try them really.

some of the stuff is out of date already - should still be fine (tinned stuff lasts for ever doesn't it?)
I wanted some love hearts for photographing but they've sold out of them

I think it's only fresh food that you have to worry about with the sell by dates. When I was young ( about a hundred years ago!!) sell by dates were unheard of, you just used the food until it was all used up. I'm sure your nose would tell you if something was doubtful. Dried and tinned food should be fine, it's not as if you plan to keep it another 20 years.
