First hedgehog at Tillydaff!

After 11 years, we have at last seen our first hedgehog on our farm at Midmar! When the SNH were planning the cull in the Hebrides, or wherever it was, we got in touch and offered a home for some re-located hedgehogs, but they said they wouldn't bring any because we'd never seen any here before.

We saw it at about 11 pm, just about to go under the beech hedge we planted 8 years ago ... which joins on to the mixed hawthorn/rose/ blackthorn etc hedges we planted the previous two years. And only about 5m from the tree under which we placed a hedgehog nesting box, 10 years ago!  So we're hoping it's living in the box, and that it will be able to attract a mate and produce a family and live happily ever after ...

We've got hedgehogs living in the cosy space under our shed.
The dogs were very interested the first time they saw one of them - until they got their noses pricked. When the dogs are out for their bedtime pee, they don't bother the hedgies now funnily enough!!!!
