has anyone had a energy survey done?

It has provided so difficult to passiv house survey done that we decided to go for a lower spec survey.

We got SCARF out to do one for our house since we will get a mortgage reduction if we meet certain energy standards.

However even this is difficult. Scarf came round and really struggled to tick the boxes for our house since it is non conventional ie for main heating there isn't a box for solar! their insulation standard only goes upto the min for building control etc
I really do hope we can get the A rating (we should be above this) but Im not impressed with Scarf.

Anyone else got experiences with surveys, know anyone else who can do surveys etc.

Sorry can't help you with the name of a surveyer, but I suggest that you contact CAT or those folk at Findhorn. I'm sure that they will be able to point you in the right direction.

Couldn't agree with you more about SCARF. I also had problems but not because we were so advanced like yourself but beacuse we are so in the dark ages. (Multifuel stove with back boiler & self installed radiators controlled with well nothing, apart from putting more fuel in / not putting fuel in. Oh and an on/off switch for the pump that puts hot water around the rads. I filled in one of their forms and got back a heap o' nonsense. I ended up speaking to an advisor who once I'd explained oor situation said that their system was designed to cover more normal situations, by that I took it to mean they had a narrow set of parameters otherwise their computer programmer couldn't cope.
