Ecoballs

Ecozone Ecoballs are on offer at Aldi w/c 15/02/09

I bought some yesterday £5.99 for 2 filled balls, 2 packets of extra filler for the balls plus a 45ml tube of Ecozone Stain Remover.

Approx 150 washes
Works out at 6pence per wash
No need to do a rinse cycle.

I have not used them yet, but will post the verdict once I have

Has anyone else tried them & how did you get on with them?
Ina

If they are the same that I bought (for a lot more money!), they work fine as long as the stuff isn't too dirty. And I would still do the rinse cycle, but you could always use the shorter cycle.

I use them for most washes, but heavily soiled or whites I pop in a little powder as well
Julie

I will watch this thread with interest as I may need a little persuasion to try them.
Not sure why I feel reluctant to change, but it's probably got more to do with age and familiarity, so some feedback is useful for taking the plunge.

Anyone know if dryer balls really cut down the drying time or not too???
Townie

Well.... I have been using the eco balls now for several weeks and I am glad to report that i'm really happy with them
Julie

Townie, there is one thing that I've always wondered about so as you have been using them so recently, you can probably answer my query. Often, I put clothes in the wash that are not dirty, but because they have picked up the cooking smells that day. Do the wash balls freshen in that respect?
Townie

Hi Julie...

I've given clothes that I've washed with the Eco Balls the "smell test" when the wash cycle was finished, and the clothes don't really smell of anything...

That said, I will pay more attention in future to do a more positive smell test, with the armpits on my sons school shirts  ...
Julie

Rather you than me   It's when you iron them and it wafts up at you isn't it....bleuch

The smell I most object to is the onion smell from curries, casseroles and soups. If they can effectively shift that, I will try them out.

Is it just my warped mind, or does the name Ecoballs conjure up a vision of micro small testes that don't spoil the line of the speedos   ??
I bet microsoft would get them smaller and smaller every decade
