Dried tomatoes

Does anybody have any good ideas what to do with dried tomatoes? I've been given quite a few, and apart from sticking them in olive oil and eating them like that, I don't really know what to d with them... I could, of course, use them in stews and soups in winter, but there must be something that needs the special "dried" flavour.

they can be lovely on homemade pizza.
just chop finely sprinkle ontop of the cheese...hmmmmm

Sundried tomato and herb bread is nice too

Do you have to soak the tomatoes before using them for bread or pizza?
kimmie

I never did...and like townie said they are lovely in homemade bread(again i never soaked them in that either)

you could always put them in with your couscous too along with a few herbs ...thats nice too

I would probably do both for bread. Sometimes dried and sometimes soaked and then adding juice to bread too.

I also chop a load of them up and add to spag bol sauce, tastes yummy in either the meat or veggie version

The problem with stuff like bread etc - as I'm just baking for myself, and don't really fancy eating tomato bread all week, I'd be doing fiddly little things so it's just tomato for one or two rolls... All these options sound lovely, but not really for single households! I'll have to experiment a bit, see how long they take to cook etc. (Yes, I know I could freeze the bread - but the freezer isn't on, and it's not really worth it running it for the one or two things I might like to keep in there!)

Just had an idea - I could always try the tomato bread for the next SUMA meet! Toooownie - do you have a recipe, or rather what's the tomato/flour ratio you use?
