Do you make your own baby food?

I am having my six month old grandson for a week whilst Mum and two year old go abroad with lots of other mums and children on a holiday they all planned specially for the kids.
I have been making a stock of baby dinners and desserts in advance and freezing them.

It is just a little idea, but I thought I'd pass it on - half of you probably do this already I expect;
When I run out of little tubs to freeze the food in, I pop them out into plastic bags to free up the tubs for the next batch. It is handy because I can write on the bags what ingredients I put into each meal too, so I can be sure he gets a good balance.

I used to do this too, Julie. And puréed fruit and veg in ice cube trays for very young ones. Still use the method for the family now as I never have enough containers, and bags are so much easier to label with permanent pen.

A whole week with a 6month old - that'll take you back    Enjoy, Julie..

Shall I post before and after photos
What's the betting I'll be begging for Valium on the emporium before the week's out

You know all 3 of you will have a whale of a time, kids keep you young, especially when you can hand them back

I might be tempting fate saying this, but he is a very happy little chap so I don't expect he'll be any trouble. Worst case scenario is he spends all week hanging round my neck in the baby sling - any excuse for a cuddle

just wondering whether people use organic fruit and veg? We currently get a very good veg box from new deer but its not organic. We'd like to give our kid as much organic food as possible but they are no local supplies and I hate buying from supermarkets.

Unfortunately, that's the trade off - local or organic. Of course we should be able to tick both boxes...

James - doesn't Bridgefoot Farm deliver up your way?
JamesB

we used to use bridgefoot before when we lived in auchterless but i wasn't impressed with the produce. A lot seemed to of been stockpiled and the quality was generally not very good. I also really like our current veg box but its not organic!

I know what you mean - it was variable, when I got it, too.
