Date for Craft Meet

I know that we said the meet was for card making. But I have the stuff here to loads of different crafts including - glass painting, egg decorating, wax/iron paintings as well as acrylic paints and other stuff. So you needn't be limited to any one thing.

Dates are entirely up to a vote as I am almost always here.
Either Saturday  morning/afternoon with a break for lunch or Sat aft/evening with a break for tea.
Or Friday evening (decided Friday was better for me as Phil gets up at 5 on work mornings but no work for Phil the following day)
Julie

It would be nice to see how the voting was going so I could follow the majority. I can't see the vote results until I cast one myself. Is any day coming out as a preference yet Sass?
andybebbington

julie click on view results below submit results
by the way no ones voted
Julie

Thanks Andy, I didn't even notice it there.....silly mare I am:-?
I like Friday the thirteenth, I'm voting for that
Julie

There, that's settled, it has 100% of the vote
Now, let's find a nice ladder to walk under next.........

andybebbington

oh got some off them ive spent the last 2 days painting for thie craft fair this weekend
Julie

How long is the poll set to run for Sass?
Sassinak

No idea, but we only have 4 votes 2 for Friday 13th and 2 for Sat 14th
Does this mean that only 4 people are interested do you suppose?
Julie

Well Dale and I usually car share but I would need to check that it didn't clash with the motor bike group she belongs to first. Pretty sure Maria and CT would join in too, they can car share from my house too if they like.

Where are the five people that voted for yours as a venue? Would you peeps mind adding yourselves so we know what you all prefer.

I will go with the majority personally, but I can't speak for others of course.
andybebbington

i never voted on a venue and am easy on either date (if that helps any)
Sassinak

Be careful you don't slip off that fence Andy LOL
Julie

We settled on Sass's house for the card making because of me running the sewing course.
Do you want to learn to make your own clothes too Andy? I think there's a place left. As far as I know it's
Diana
Maria
carrotlover
Forget-me-not......
so far. Should have room for another one or two, but not more than that or it will get split into two groups. No blokes yet to balance the mix either, which is a pity.

Vote for a day on the poll anyway, because it will help others to decide.

I'm touting for custom
Do you want the sixth place ?????

We're coming to yours
Sassinak

OK it looks as if it will be Saturday the 14th November

So I'll suggest early afternoon start and see how it goes from there.

Non-disruptive kids welcome (tolerated lol) but no dogs please because of the pups (same goes for the kids actually - they must leave the puppies alone )

Townie, or anyone else a long way away, there is a spare bed if you want to use it
Julie

I'll see if Dale and Maria want to car share. What do we need to bring Sass?
Sassinak

Yourselves basically and whatever materials you need for whatever craft you are planning.
As always some sort of goodies for the food table are welcome but not essential - I will still speak to you if you forget lol
Julie

Ok,  I wasn't sure if it was just card making we were doing.
Food stuff, no probs.
How about a bit of a 'show 'n' tell too? I've got one or two interesting 'toys' I could bring along........laptop knitting machine, miniature antique sewing machine, wooden cotton reel knitting gadget.
Anyone else with curios could do the same perhaps?
Or really old textiles like lace, old photos of craft stuff or whatever?
Sassinak

I think that it was origionally mentioned as a card making meet.
But I have said that I have the materials and space for people to try other crafts if they wish.
Since we still don't know who is coming - or even how many. It is very much open to offers.
I shall be here anyway lol

LA in Cuminestown - if you are reading this please try and pop over for a while and show off some of that great scrap-booking that you were doing
alimum4

I will be there with possibly two children if that is ok?
kimmie

Will bring some flapjack and a spare cutter, some extra glue, and anything else i think of at the time Townie, as promised one bed ready made up....now you have a choice of two beds
Sassinak

No problem Ali
zombiecazz

Hoping to make it over too, not sure ow many of us.
Sassinak

Just to remind you all that it is tomorrow !!!!
All crafters welcome.
PM me for directions if you haven't been before
Julie

Thanks for the directions Sass, that was the way we came last time I believe
What time would you like us to get there?
Sassinak

I've just told people early afternoon, until everyone gets fed up and goes home - doesn't affect me, I'm here anyway lol
Smooth Hound

kimmie

Had a fabby time today/evening/night....made 3 cards, wax painted, glass painted, sketched...had great company and food!

thanks again Sass xx
andybebbington

ditto above, had a good day too,
wasnt in the good books tho when i got home, mum complained i had not left the cornish pasties as promised

little did she know i had but the rottie found them befor she had apparently under a tea towel on the draining board is no longer a safe place to leave food ooooops
zombiecazz

oops bad girl. We have to put everything away too or the cats will eat it. So far only raw fruit and veg are safe.

Had a fabby time. Made 3 cards, 3 wax pics, 1 painted storage jar and started off a pair of gloves.

Sass forgot my wax pics good you keep them for me. They're the whale, devil goat and Saturn with stars.

Great food too. Loved the pasties, cake and hummous.
Julie

Sorry I didn't get over yesterday Sass.
I had every intention of coming, baked some biscuits to bring on friday and vaxed the water out of the car footwells so it was nice for car sharing (still haven't sorted the door seals).
I decided to repair the grout in the kitchen floor on Friday evening and felt fine whilst doing it, but was so rough on Saturday that I couldn't face the drive. I would have tossed the car keys to someone else if I had company, but in the end it was just me. I still hurt all over but as it is self inflicted, can hardly complain At least the floor isn't bugging me any more anyway
Maria

Sorry i couldn't make it Sass - sounds like you all had a great time.
