For all those who wished they had made it to the Compost Giveaway at the Duthie Park - we have provisionally booked a new date to do the same again - this time at Thainstone on Sunday 26th July, alongside the car boot sale that day.

I will keep people posted when this date is confirmed.

There was no real limits the last time, we only asked that people take along their own bags to take it away.

The compost is from Keenans at New Deer, who compost the garden waste from the brown bins in Aberdeen City, and all the skip waste from around Aberdeenshire. The compost is excellent, very rich.

We will have volunteers and Aberdeenshire helping with filling your bags.

So stick that in your diary. Hopefully being in Aberdeenshire will mean we are closer to more NEEPS members.

Just to confirm, the compost giveaway, will happen on Sunday 26th July. People will be able to take some top grade compost away from Thainstone, which will be donated by Keenans Recycling Ltd.

I would ask that people take their own bags along to take the compost away.

We will be on hand to offer advice on any composting issues, and can point you in the right direction when looking for compost bins or food digesters.

Just a final word on the compost giveaway this Sunday 26th, the waste aware bus from Aberdeenshire Council will be located next to the compost - they will be located in the carpark for the sunday market, rather than the carpark where all the car booters are.

Shouldn't be too difficult to see the waste ware bus.

Remember to take along your own bags
