I've received two of these this evening - I knew I hadn't signed up for any CNN alerts so didn't open and googled - found this.

Virus Center: CNN news spam with fake Flash update malware
August 7, 2008 20:22
There is a massive spam session running around with fake e-mails trying to spoof CNN news web site in order to make unsuspecting users download a malware file (get_flash_update.exe in this case). |

Been getting heaps of these over the last while (possibly over 100 in the last few days alone). As with most spam it's dumped straight into my junk mail most of the time anyway.

haven't had one yet, guess my filters are doing the job
I read somewhere that Bill Gates said in one of his presentations (I think) when XP was released, that spam would have been completely gotten rid of within a couple of years....
well that worked out, didn't it..

Haven't seen that one. The most common one for us is one claiming to be from UPS, saying:
| Quote: | Unfortunately we were not able to deliver postal package you sent on August the 1st in time because the recipient’s address is not correct.
Please print out the invoice copy attached and collect the package at our office

Since we use UPS as our carrier of choice, when I first got one of these I was almost tempted to click on the innocent looking attachment...
