Forget-me-Not
|
Chance viewing last nightDuring a bit of channel flicking last night to a not remembered programme on a not remembered channel, we saw a short snippet about a couple of ex police women who moved from London to the Lakes and who run a smoking meat business with smokers made out of your average metal filing cabinet!!!!! What a brilliant idea!!!!! Sadly the programme didn't go into detail as wanted to know more. I've wanted to try smoking stuff for a while.
Did anybody see this or do this?

We have a smoker made out of an old fridge (or it might be an upright freezer)
It works very well and the racks inside are ideal for putting the food to be smoked on.

HFW used an old coal bunker as a smoker i think in his programme. We intend to try this out when the coal bunker finally gets emptied and a quick clean out as it's not used anymore.

A smoking day would be a FAB idea - I love smoked garlic. I'm on the lookout for a filing cabinet but not for smoking stuff

A bit off topic, but I was also flicking channels last night after watching INEBG, and found a programme on Discovery Science or something called Eco Tech, which was all about advances in technology and how they were getting "greener", etc. Looks like it's a series and I dunno if that was the first one or part way thru' the series.
Was quite interesting to watch though.

For the first time in ages - i feel like I'm missing out because I don't turn the box on. Although I do prefer to go and find what I want instead of being chained to the telly - It means I don't find out if owt good's going to be on. Do you know if I'll find these on beeb iplayer or equiv?

INEBG is on iPlayer, the prog I watched was on the Discovery channel so I guess unless you have sky you're unlikely to ever see it. Dunno if it'll be repeated and/or if it's available on skys webpage to watch?
