Cat/dog shed heating - ideas please

We have had several new buildings put up recently to house a variety of animals, some of which are cats.  I would like to find a way to give a little warmth during our slightly chilly winter nights and wondered what ideas you all have.  Please bear in mind I am not in the slightest bit technically minded and will need to have things explained as thoroughly as if you were talking to a small child!

do you have power and power points in the shed?

If you do have power in the sheds, the ones we used with Cats Protection are heated pads that go in the beds and provide a bit of cost warmth.  They retail for about £15, but you may find them cheaper.

also you can get plug in rads that are fairly cheap...not sure how much though, i used to have one years ago...it really gave out some heat and was very safe

Hot water bottles???!!!

I would say a plug in radiator set to its frost setting, just to keep the place above freezing (or higher if you are feeling generous).

Weve been using 3 to heat the large static caravan we are in while the house is renovated and I was surprised that the bill wasnt worse than it was, it was lower than I thought.

Hi, thanks for all your ideas, sadly no electricity to the sheds at present, and it will probably not be this year that we will be able to afford to do that.   Have been looking at microwaveable pads (snugglesafe I think they are called), which seem to hold their heat for around 10 hours, think they might be best for this winter. I think these are the things you probably mean Lord Azrael.
