Forget-me-Not

Broody Hybrid!

Is this because it's spring/summer. I now have my silkie who went broody a day ago, my egg bound hybrid, (fits online description perfectly) and now her friend appears to have  gone broody!! She spent rather too long earlier laying, but kept an eye out, moved her later, she was sitting on loads. She stayed out a while but has now gone back! I know hybrids aren't supposed to really go broody, could this be it or just missing the other one?

They do go broody and can rear chicks. They are just not as consistant and trustworthy as something like a silkie - who will try and hatch potatoes if there is nothing else available lol
Hybrids often give up and get bored after a couple of weeks, which is very frustrating.

I wish my hybrids would give up brooding!! I have 5 broody and it is playing havock with the amount of eggs being laid. It seems to me that when some (or even 1) go broody the rest stop laying!!

I've only got 1 laying out of 5 the rest are broody apart from Daisy who was under the weather a wee while ago

I'm sure that it's catching lol
I have huts full of them  at the moment - some are even sharing eggs 2 and 3 to a nestbox lol

She's brooding on the top nesting box and Gracie is in and out downstairs, I think she's warming up to it now!!!! Isabel my newbie pre POL is keping thm company. I think my eggs are going to plummet. Reassuring though to know, this is normal
