Book releasingI heard a chap talking about this on the radio this morning and I thought it was a great idea.
Book releasing is about taking books that you just have lying around gathering dust and no longer read, and leaving them on buses, trains, in phone booths, airports and hotel rooms. Other people can then pick them up and take them away to read them.
I don't know how he knew, but this fella had heard of some of his books going all around the world over a number of years. I guess you could write a message inside the cover or put a sticker on the front to let people know that it was there for the taking and why.
I think it's an interesting way to recycle.

It's called Book Crossing and there is a website all about it - www.bookcrossing.com
It's a great idea and you can go to the site and look for books that have been released into the wild in your area. Some of my flickr contacts have left them on top of mountains to be found too.
I think it is a great idea - we had a bookcrossing meet in Alford - Ina came with me and we left a book on the main street and in the pub.

I used to release books for BookCrossing but when I moved up here, I stopped for some reason. I really should get back onto it.
