Bio-diesel filling station to open in Aberdeen | Quote: | Bio-diesel filling station to open
THE first pure bio-diesel filling station in the north-east will open next week.
An Aberdeen man has started his own company which converts local used vegetable oil into diesel fuel.
Bev Parkinson, who owns Business Bio Fuels Ltd, will open the station on Tuesday.
He said: “Our fuel is an environmentally-friendly alternative to fossil-based diesel.
“It can produce more miles per gallon, improve engine performance through natural lubrication, produce fewer harmful emissions and is carbon-neutral.
“We are selling it at 10p a litre cheaper than any fossil fuel sold in stations in Aberdeen.” |

There will be an open day next Tuesday at East Tullos Industrial Estate from 9am to 9pm.
Can anyone find any additional information about this - I've googled and can't find a website or any further info about Bev Parkinson or Business Bio Fuels Ltd. It would be really good to know more.

good to see someone is doing this commercially...i wouldnt have a clue where to start in the converting, let alone the time or finding somewhere that sells enough oil to convert in the first place!! brilliant news though!

At risk of being a party-pooper - be very careful..........There are a great many caveats about it - make absolutely sure your vehicle is one of those recommended for use with it - possibly even stand back and leave it a month or two to see if the local supplies are "good stuff". I'm in principle very much in favour of biodiesel, but one of our local petrol station's stocks of the stuff have left a great deal to be desired - my garage bloke has firmly warned me off it - if it's not well made it can clog your entire fuel system, and it can be pretty expensive to fix......
