Actually that's one of my "pointers" for watching telly/films. If they say "reality", "based on real events" or "true story" generally I won't even bother giving it a second glance... although I have watched some true stories but they are "big" stories IYKWIM, ie WWII or whatever... not just some dodgy beating someone once got in middle america.

I've seen the odd glimpse of one or two of the programmes over the years but it is as interesting to me as watching paint dry 
Apparently they will be growing their own veg this year though - not really jumping on the bandwagon eh, but hey, if so many people watch it and start to copy then it can only be a good thing.

It was on in here last night. Kids will probably watch it all  If they are busy watching that I may get some reading done for a change so there's always a silver lining

Big BrotherI read somewhere that the tv production company make £165 million every summer!!!!!! I can't believe they can make that much money out of such rubbish!!!

I can't believe they haven't scrapped it with all the trouble the programme and it's contestants have caused over the years.
The public fascination with this sort of thing puts me in mind of the way folk slow down to stare at road accidents and gore. Are we perhaps 'hard wired' to enjoy other folks embarrassment and misery or does it make us feel superior because it isn't us?
I have watched it in previous years but these days I don't bother because it is contrived, tedious and predictable. They pick contestants who are so OTT that trouble is bound to start. What amazes me most is how these people never seem to have learned from the bad experiences of contestants in previous years and repeat all the same stupid mistakes. They ruin their own reputations by giving the gutter press a 'field day' of material to work with.

I have never understood why anyone would watch a group of people stuck in a house in the first place... have never watched it. Then again I rarely, if ever, watch any "reality" TV as it's all cr*p IMO.

I used to think that and then, wondering what all the fuss was about, I watched it the year that they had the house divided into 'poor' and 'rich' sides. It was strange how it drew me in and became compelling. It also annoyed me that I would find myself recording stuff on other channels so that I wouldn't miss it. You really can feel cross with yourself for being so fascinated by trash at the expense of something worthwhile.
You could always use it as an educational tool to show your kids how stupid people who have tantrums look or why not to say anything twatty that might get played back to you
