Nigel Kenedy.... on BBC2 Proms at 1900, first time for 21 years....
I for one cannot wait..... so I think its a cosy down with a bottle of wine or some ale.....

I've got a very catholic taste in music, and probably my favourite classical piece of all is Bruch's violin concerto, and love the "classic" performance by Nathan Milstein........such delicacy and passion.......
Then there's "Nige's" version - I've heard of "attack", but he leaves it bruised and bleeding in the gutter........sorry, NOT a fan of the man!

Missed this unfortunately, but my Dad did try to watch it...only to find he'd come in to find a load of people yakking on there again! What is it with these things nowadays, you have to get a load of people in a room discussing everything for hours..time wasted that could be taken up listening to more music! I watched some of the first night in glorious Dolby Digital..but again it was ruined by more commentary than music

I like classical as well, so you're not alone, mainly Beethoven, Tchaikovsky etc., as well as my main listening of Heavy Metal!

I'll take a look and see. I don't like jazz though, so will miss that out. A couple of other acts I like on the 'modified classic' way are Vanessa Mae and Bond, neither of which will be on the proms, but were on one of the other classical events in years gone by.
