August Craft Meet, Portsoy-ishI'd like to hold it here sometime between 8th and 21st July.
I'd definitely like to get the sewing machine out and would really appreciate any help that anyone can give with this. Other than that I'm open to suggestion on the crafts that we do.

Sounds grand. I'd also really like to be competent with the ol' sewing. Got so many things i could be getting on with if the dam thing worked. I need to take my poorly electric sewing machine somewhere to get it fixed and a July meet might give me the motivation to sort it out. No idea where - anyone any good with such things?

Sorry didn't see this before. Took it to the wizz...and it's terminal. I could take it for repair but it's likely to cost as much as buying a new one.
Dale - sounds grand. Carrot Lover will be keen to come along if it's an 'arty' meet.

It's not terminal, it just needs the timing reset but it will probably cost more than the machine is worth to have it done by a shop. You could always make a few phone calls and enquire, I might be wrong about the price.
Just a thought, but if it was mine and I was going to scrap it anyway, I would think it was worth tackling the job myself. I wasn't going to suggest me taking your machine to bits and possibly not managing to sort it out and if it needed parts, I wouldn't have a clue where to get them from.
I have to reset my overlocker regularly but because there is some wear/play in the affected parts it keeps knocking itself out again. It's driving me bonkers and I'm just about fed up enough to replace it I need to get just the right level of 'fed up' to part with the cash though........Ebeneezer Lockpocket as G says.
