Diana · Anyone know a good roofer?

Might not be very green, but we're having problems with one of our gable end/chimneys and the rain's getting in (especially on days like today). So we're looking for a reliable roofer.

The chimney has been properly capped, but that didn't fix the problem, so I'd be grateful if anyone who knows a decent guy could let me know.

Try asking in the local shop, they are bound to know who does odd jobs like that in your area. You'll know where to find him if he doesn't turn up too, lol.
Have you checked that the pointing is sound and any flashings are in place correctly? Nine times out of ten it is a job you could tackle yourself if you're not afraid to go on the roof.

Yeah, I've sorted a few things up there, but OH wants an expert in this time.

I know of a couple of local roofers, but it's a good one I'm after IYKWIM

You could ring the council, probably care and repair I should think, about a good roofer as they often have list of accredited builders.
