advice

Good morning all,
im thinking of supplying logs to the Surrounding  area (poss further for a bit extra cost fuel wise) and just wanted to get an idea on what you think a fair price was to pay for softwood logs ranging fro 6"/10" OD by about 10 " or any length needed for your boiler/open fire.
i notice folks say a "load" but thats open to assumptions on what a load is. If i was to supply meter cubed what would you think was fair.
this would be delivered.
i would like to move on later down the line and supply Hardwood too but at the moment it would be softwood.

appreciate your advice.

i would of thought about £50 per cube and this seems to be a 8x4 trailer load.
Actually you are very close (skelmuir) to us and we will need some firewood for next winter so might be interested once we have our wood shelter built. We are currently using the larch offcuts from the house but will run out this year.

We have often had wood delivered by the box load. The general standard seems to be a tattie box full.
The prices do vary - try asking some of your coal suppliers what they charge for wood, you don't need to tell them why do you?

hi harpchr,

I sell fire wood by the cubic meter, seasoned chopped and ready for the fire (Size as requested) at £45 softwood and £55 for hardwood per cubic meter in sacks (10 large sacks or 20 if using up chicken/sheep food sack) including delivery (sometime add extra if long way away or only a half load).

hope this helps
andy (of andys firewood)
