never done the skype thing with 3 mainly because I've caught out the sales teams (in store) in their lies so many times. All their call centres used to be in India, and by the time you found someone who spoke enough english to answer you question was found the line would drop out.

Run a mile - "3" are a shifty bunch - if you work out what you actually NEED, it's usually far cheaper to "go sim-free"
(Since last October, I've spent under £8 total on all calls and texts with Asdamobile, and even lashed out a whole £29.99 for a new sim-free handset - total outlay £38..). during which time you'd have spent a minimum of £150 with this "offer"
Skype (which you can get for totally free) is useful if you have a relative abroad who's also got Skype, you can natter for ages for free using your internet connection........

"sim free" denotes a 'phone that is free of a "tie" to one or another of the mobile companies, allowing you to ue it on any network of your choice (just by changing the sim card).
Asdamobile use "sim free" phones, and for a "low user" like me are brilliant, there's no tie, no monthly fee, and no penalties for not using "credit" before a certain time - I put a tenner's worth on it last October, and I've still got over £2 worth left..........
None of the major companies "push" "sim free" as they don't make a fortune out of them, unlike the usual dodgy "offer bundles", which are usually thinly disguised ripoffs to get you giving them £15 a month or more.....
