I'll answer my own question. It's happened to my one above. P***ed off. If it costs money to keep them off can't we all chip in? Bad enough waiting to get on without having to wait for ads to load. My speed is 24kbp/s so it's driving me nuts.

I hate all these flashing adverts! I thought that was why we had to re-register last year, so we could do away with such things.

They are several times bigger than the post as well, which makes them distracting.
It might be that we have no choice to keep costs down and if that is the case, we might have to just put up with them.
Just trying something...adding spaces to shove the adds down to the bottom out of the way

Have had a look into it, and keeping the forum ad free will cost £40 per year.
Anyone got any fundraising ideas? I'm sure we all want to keep the ads off.

I paid for it last year out of monies raised from our fundraisers - wasn't aware that it was due to run out, but it seems a small price to pay to keep the ads at bay

Update - have just paid for ads free again - hopefully we'll stop seeing them very soon.

Ads are back again - it's that time of the year! I'll need to scrape together some money to pay for the ads free. Will check the price and donations will be very gratefully received - if we all chip in a little it will hardly cost anything - what do you think?

The amount per year for the ads free is £42 and then obviously we need to pay for hosting the main website later in the year.
I think we need some more auctions and some proper advertising of things that Neepsters are really interested in - good local advertising and at a reasonable rate.

im happy to pay 5 pounds , worth every penny, but the auction ideas, and any other fundraising ideas, are an excellent idea too, im not sure ive got anything worth anything, although ive got an idea
