Acorns to Ancients

During its 'Acorns to Ancients' seed collecting month (23 September to 23 October) the Woodland Trust is encouraging people to collect seeds such as acorns, beechnuts, ash keys, hazelnuts, rowan berries and crab apples from the local ancient trees recorded at www.ancienttreehunt.org.uk where there are instructions for nurturing them into new trees to create the ancients of the future.
Maidenstone

We are trying to start off a very small tree nursery (not commercial) and are on the lookout for acorns.  If anyone knows of any prolific oak trees around could you please let me know.  I don't think it is a good year for acorns, my sister lives in Suffolk and has found very few.
Not a good year for beech mast, but the ash trees are heavy with seed.

speaking of accorns and seeds, its amazing how a small thing can pop through the soil and get bigger and bigger, until its really big
and this is going on all over  the world     its a miracal, really it is.
