Aberdeenshire rubbish collection costs increase | Quote: | The cost of collecting rubbish in Aberdeenshire has soared by more than 80% in three years, it has been revealed.
The price of disposing of that waste has jumped by almost 70% to about £115 a year for each home.
The council said last night a population boom and rocketing fuel prices were to blame for the increase.
Figures released to the Press and Journal showed a steady rise in collection costs over the past three years, from £28 to £33 then £52 per household in 2006-07. |
