Aberdeenshire Council extends its telephone opening hours

Aberdeenshire Council extends its telephone opening hours
10th October 2007

Aberdeenshire Council has extended its Contact Centre opening hours so customers can get in touch for longer from today (Wednesday, October 10).

The council’s Contact Centre takes up to 7,500 calls every month from customers needing information and support on issues about council tax, roads and waste.

From today, the Contact Centre will be open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.

The extended opening hours have been introduced as a direct result of customer feedback, which said that customers wanted to be able to contact the council by telephone for longer.

The council opened its Contact Centre in Fraserburgh last November and it has already made a major impact for customers wanting to telephone the council on a range of issues.

Calls are answered quickly and queries dealt with more efficiently with extensive monitoring taking place to identify where further improvements can be made.

There are also plans in place to extend the range of services, which can be contacted by telephone through the Contact Centre over the next year.

Leader of the Council, Councillor Anne Robertson, commented that the extended opening hours would help more customers contact the council at a time that suits them.

Cllr Robertson said: “When we asked our customers what improvements they would like to see they were keen that the council was more accessible in hours to suit them.

“This is about tailoring our services to meet the needs of our customers and giving them an opportunity to contact us at either end of the working day will be a huge benefit to them.”

To contact the council by telephone, customers can call:

Council Tax 08456 08 12 01
Roads 08456 08 12 05
Waste 0845 600 3 900
