Aberdeen Centre for Environmental Sustainability - ACESThought this might interested some of you... Got it in the internal mail today.
The Aberdeen Centre for Environmental Sustainability (ACES) has recently
been established to carry out inter-disciplinary research on
environmental sustainability. We are a small, but beautifully formed,
team of 5 staff (3 ecologists, a human geographer and an ecological
economist). Because of the composition of this group much of our current
work focuses on the sustainable management of biodiversity and
conservation in multi-use landscapes. However, the scope and ambition of
ACES is much greater than this. We seek to provide a platform and focus
for all of us interested in developing the science necessary for
sustainability.
As a first step we have produced a website (www.aces.ac.uk) that
outlines who we are and what we do. It would be great if we could also
include links to other projects that touch on relevant issues, links to
organisations that are involved in relevant work and links to any
appropriate seminar series that are going on in the Aberdeen area. In
this way our aim is to provide a valuable resource for all of us to use
and one that will enable future collaborations and more integrated,
inter-disciplinary research across the university and with our local
partners.
