yes there are a few plants that were bought over when these estates were established, either for there beauty or there uses, ie groundcover for here shooting , this has been a problem people have been takling , or trying to tackle for yrs, i wasnt aware of the bacteria thing thouhg, this certainly worsens the problem, and makes its irradication somewhat tricky, as bacteria can stay in the soil for yrs even after the plant that caused it has been erraddicated.
ironic thingg is is that people are still doing it now, importing shrubs and the like from all over the world.
it is important when you are doing yourr garden to use native species of plants as well as irradicate these past mistaakes so as not to continue new problems into thee future.
do we ever larn, or will people always either think, or think they know every thing.
i would like to point out before every one goes chopping there rhodies down though, that it is only the one species that seem to be the problem, so check your species, as its the ponticum that is the culprit, for these issues
