Burghead’s past is celebrated in a fire festival on the eve of the old Julian New Year on the 11th January. In this, a half-barrel, the “Clavie”, containing flaming brands, is carried blazing round the town , before it is left to burn out on a surviving fragment of the fort’s ramparts.

No photos but we've been to it once or twice a long time ago.
Well worth going to if you have the time IMO. Would be up for going to it again if we weren't tied up this weekend (again). |

| I've been a few times - I grew up in Lossie so it was just up the coast from us. Definately worth going to at least once in your lifetime. |
