in an effort to fob the latest version of Windoze off on a gullible public, they're touting the Ubuntu-style taskbar in "7" as something "new" according to the latest tv ad............yet again, Microsoft nicks someone else's ideas and touts them as "theirs"...... _________________ http://solarwind.org.uk |

It's what they have always done... taken a "good" idea and made it their own... it's always been a winning formula ever since DOS (which wasn't theirs first either).
Not had a proper play with Win7 yet, not really had the time to ensure I've got the full set of software ready to reinstall on my machine (it's a works one) and not really had the time to ensure I have a full backup and installation time, etc... plus there is always the time taken to get everything back the way you want it after a reinstall
Have played with Ubuntu, and for a cheap/free machine it's quite good, worked quite well for me (still have an old desktop and laptop with it installed)... the funny thing I found with it, was that the Ubuntu RDP client was far quicker than the MS version (despite it effectively being an MS thing ) |
