I recently started getting veggie boxes from The Farm Garden, who are a new provider based in the Ballater/Dinnet area. I'm not sure if we are part of a pilot, they may not be scaling up until next year.
But I had to post as I have had veggie boxes at 2 previous houses, and these beat the others hands down.
For a start the box is solely made up of stuff they have grown themselves (so it will be 6mths of the year only).
Secondly there is a great variety, and I think its good value, my big trayful is £11, I couldnt buy it in the supermarket for that. And I hate how long it takes to drag around supermarkets for veg - with only 2 of us we are getting a bit of this and a bit of that and it takes loads of time and loads of evil packaging....
Thirdly and best of all, there is a slip with the box stating how long ago the stuff was picked - and for example todays was picked less than 4 HOURS!!!! before I got it......
This could put me back in my veg plot ideas, with Pete and Jeanette supplying me all this lovely stuff will I ever get off my bot to go and do mine!! Hopefully it will just inspire me to do it even more!
.....and the first cauliflower is in this weeks goodies, and i love steamed cauli!
really recommend them )) _________________ Happiness is a Haflinger! |

Thanks for that - I spotted an ad in the Piper yesterday and they deliver to Aboyne so hopefully they can deliver a box to David at school.
Peter has posted on the forum here so hopefully he can answer any questions we've got... and hope he feels good at reading this post! _________________ Neeps Flickr Group - check out some of the fab photos from other Neepsters and share some of your own. |
