I hope this is okay to share these links here with you:
Just thought I would share my own two links with you if anyone is interested the first one belongs to my partner he is an experienced and professionally trained NLP Coach. Neurolinguistic Programming helps you to change your bad habits or your negative thinking toward the positive.
If you wish to quit smoking, or wish to feel more confident, or even improve your phycial fitness send him an email:
His web site is www.faztrackcoaching.co.uk his email is faztrack@hotmail.co.uk
The other one is mine I teach Buddhist Meditation one to one or in groups of up to 10. While my partner charges for his sessions my meditation pratice is free (Unless you wish to take materials home with you, if you wish to do this there is a £5.00 fee for the books.) I also do Tarot Readings if you are interested in something fun. These readings are £20.00 for one hour. Again everything is kept positive for you.
www.katztarotandastrology.co.uk
All contacts made to either site are wholly confidential. I always believe in helping where I can so I felt it would be nice to share this information with my neeps friends. |

Hi, GB I studied and taught Yoga for a number of years under a master who studied in India. I taught HaTha, Raja, Gnani and other branches of Yoga and know the power there is in training the mind and "soul".
Sassinak and I are both Reki practitioners (not on a commercial or organised basis, you understand,) but we are both aware of the forces around us that can be harnessed for good.
I do not "meditate" but enter the other "world" to draw power and recharge myself.
Meditation is only one way of tapping into this energy.
I am always receptive to others who have taken a different path, though I have no knowledge of NLP or how it works can you explain a little?

Hello, thank you for your comments they were very interesting. I used to do Yoga quite a bit but no longer the ole ligaments don't like it so much any longer. But Yoga is very very good for the body and tuning it with your energy very good indeed! I have a friend who does Reiki as well and it's very nice to have someone do this for you. After a session it is very relaxing.
Meditation when practiced in the Buddhist way the root mind is the focus, not energy necessarily. It is not controlling the mind but going to the root of the mind and understanding the function of reality and the impermanence of all things. Reality is different for everyone as it is our perception of reality. Changing the focus of the mind changes the perception and makes for less suffering.
Perhaps you already know some of this? So please forgive if I am preaching to the choir I am a Mayhana Buddhist and practice with these teachings on the mind. Mayhana Buddhists use balance in all things, ("the Middle Way" might sound familiar here) Meditation on deities is not something I teach, however when I do try to pass on meditative practice I try to teach something that a person can take away for them such as breathing meditation which is simple and effective. I won't go on here, but will answer the NLP question instead.
NLP is Neuro Linguistic Programming. This is much similar in practice as meditation and Dharma teachings. It is training the mind with positive thoughts and imagery and rather than use meditation hypnosis is used. Kind of like having a "jump start" on the mind battery!
Repetition of positive key words are used process. It's like chanting but than saying OM MANI PADME OM with NLP you are saying that you are a non smoker, or you ARE thin, or you ARE more cofident. While awake you change your thinking from "I quit smoking" which to your mind says you "used" to smoke leaving room for you to smoke again, instead you say "I don't smoke" a subtle change but a much stronger impression is made on the mind and there is no room for the habit to return because it is as if you never had the habit in the first place. See?
Hypnosis is used as a tool to tune the deeper mind so that these phrases or suggestions are in the subconscious. How effective they are (as in meditation) are dependant on how positive you remain and how often you intent to practice the methods taught. As with any process the more positive you are and the more often you replay the new thought patterns better the results. Positive thinking is very powerful.
I hope this helps a bit. If you have more questions please fee free to email my partner. He can correct anything that I have gone astray with. Happy holdiays and blessings for a grand new year! |

Really interesting!
This is something that I would very much like to learn more about. I've only ever had one reiki session and was absolutely amazed by the result.
Meditation is something that I feel would be hugely beneficial to me... if only I had the time to do it. I know... I should make time, but it appears to be somewhat thin on the ground. Is it possible to include children in this meditation? _________________ Neeps Flickr Group - check out some of the fab photos from other Neepsters and share some of your own. |

All hail to thee oh Jewel in the lotus. I smoke, I drink, I have sex, I eat meat, but I also accept that I am not "perfect". Life is compromise.
I lived in the Far East and have studied all the major beleif systems and many minor paths. My own views are a distillation of the wisdom of many.
Life is about what you are and what you do and how you interact with others.
I know these are not strict Buddist practices but I have no arguement with the philosophy of "First, do no harm".
May I point you to the "Desiderata" posted in this forum by Sass (my OH, Sassinak).
If you are not already aware of it, I beleive you will see the truth in it. _________________ Minds are like parachutes - they work better when open

Yes, meditation is very good for children of all ages. It's important to keep it short as they are far too busy for long "adult type" sessions. But they do get the point and the benefit, as their minds are so very open to peaceful concepts. My son learned when he was 7 years old and has kept the peaceful feeling ever since, and remembers it very fondly.
I don't teach yoga as I am not a qualified teacher, I teach meditation as a way to practice with fellow students in this life. As I mentioned I am no expert and am not a Geshe, like my own teachers. But together we can do amazing wonderful things. So if anyone is interested in getting a group together please feel free to contact and we can disucss dates. Perhaps in the new year before we all go garden mad eh?
Blessings to everyone by the way for a lovely Christmas, and a warm and hopeful new year filled with new friends and laughter. |
