This morning the sky was clear and the sun was shining although it was cold. We had a frost which stayed under the hedges and in shaded areas.
The day has gotten progressively colder and just crossing the drive from the car to the front door left me shivering (3 feet?)
I went out to check the poultry supplies (food and water) and put some corn down for them, and found the wheelbarrow that was parked next to the poultry shed, which had water in the bottom, now had an inch thick layer of ice.
There is a strong breeze, coming on gusty, blowing up from the west that smells of frost
It is 3.40 in the afternoon and we have lights on because it is so dark.

Same for us in Peterhead this morning wow it was cold, the ducks/hens water had 2inch of ice on top i was crunching all the way up the garden, the rabbit water was also frozen. all animals got warm water and the birds got warm breakfast.
The temperature cauge said -5 at 07.15 it's now 18.40 and it's blowing a gale out, everyone is tucked up either in huts, hutches or house, hubby snoring at the side of me (due a dig in the ribs GOD HE'S LOUD ) the dogs have a chair each and the puss is infront of the open fire toasting his fur, as for me I'm sat at the side of the fire too playing on here.............cant wait for the snow

Well, I think we all know what this strong breeze progressed into!
The day ended with really strong winds howling up around thehouse, with lashing rain. The wind was strong enough to move garden furniture about (just spied a garden chair thrown against the table) , the childrens slide, a garden storage box ...
Come 2am though the wind had dropped and the rain had stopped. So not as bad as it was back on 26th October
