I thought you had something to tell us then Julie!!! Thanks for that information.
I'm guessing that this could be of use to people that suffer from travel sickness too? _________________ Neeps Flickr Group - check out some of the fab photos from other Neepsters and share some of your own. |

The sea bands worked brilliantly for my two for going south over Glenshee. I'm not sure how much of it was placebo effect, as I told them that they would work, and they did
The originals were invented by a Portsmouth GP for seasick sailors. Never thought of making my own though, as they only cost a couple of pounds... _________________ “I was not. I have been. I am not. I do not mind.”

Thanks Julie, I'd forgotton!
The bead goes on what would be your third finger nail down from palm, if you lign up your finger nails down the sticky out tendon closest to your little finger.
I used them through very sicky pregnancies and they helped a lot.

I only knew them as 'sea bands' but I didn't know if that was what they are generally called. It sounds as if it is though. I have a vague recollection of seeing them in mothercare when Niki was pregnant, but I may be confused - you know me.
It set me thinking though - we should start a thread with acupressure points for all kinds of ailments. I'm going to see if I can find a video for migraines, poeple are always complaining about them so that would be a good place to start. If anyone else finds any stuff will you add it? I'll put it in the health and beauty section. _________________ It is better to light a candle than to rail against the darkness

| i had some in hospital, to be honest im not sure whether they worked or not, as it was an incapatability of some painkiller that was doing it, they changed it for another at the same time i got my bands, so im not certain if i stopped being sick because of the bands or the change of painkiller. but alot of people seem to think they do work |

I've never tried them myself, but the friend who showed me them many years ago said they worked for his children's travel sickness.
