Hi, I’m Sassinak otherwise known as Sue, one of the Mods on the gardening forum. I have long history in gardening having worked in a large garden in Yorkshire which was open to the public. At present I am creating 1.5 acres of garden from the field surrounding our steading conversion. This will include fruit and veg plots, flower beds, lawn as well as a wildlife area with large pond.. Please tell us about your gardening projects and feel free to ask any questions you might have

Hi - I work for an environmental charity - Aberdeen Forward. Are main aim is to divert waste from landfill.  One of the projects I work on is community composting on some of the allotment sites in Aberdeen. At Garthdee we have an allotment plot as well.  I am away to cultivate this plot this year, and have approached a local community centre with some ideas.  We have agreed to set up a small box scheme for fruit and veg during the season and distribute it to the local old folks homes. Connecting local produce with local people.
I will be looking for help from end of March onwards - with maintaining the plot and also looking for donations of plants.
Any ideas or suggestion - as well as any offers of help much appreciated.

Thanks

Master Composter (Chris)
