Hi I thought it may be a good idea to have a sticky master class thread. If you have a craft you could teach (pics would be brill) or something in particular you want to learn, please post it here.

Some idea's

Metal work projects
Kntting (basics and advanced)
Crochet (boy, do I need to learn this one)
Sewing (making something? why not photo the project as it is being made so we can learn too)
Wing clipping
Jam making
etc, etc, etc

Looking forward to this thread being used

Photography would be good - I would LOVE to learn more. I'm sure that between us we've all got little hints and tips to share.

I'd love to make some jewellery - I've got a couple of books that were part of a freecycle lot that I have added to the library and was particularly inspired by the twisted metal designs.

Do you have any recommendations for places to buy materials?

Great idea for a thread MN.

If I posted pictures of my bobbin slowly filling up as I spin it would be like watching paint dry.........anyone got insomnia?

Seriously though, it is a very good idea. I think I still have the handouts with step by step diagrams that I made up for my dressmaking classes. I could dig them out and get Gordon to scan them for use on here. It is stuff like fitting zips, french seams, basic beginners stuff.

Me! I usually read myself to sleep - doesn't always work, but at least when I fall asleep it's only on a book. Have tried knitting in bed, which is fine - until I fall asleep and come to lie on the end of one of the needles... :?

I often have to unpick the last couple of rows I knitted before lying down to sleep the next time I pick it up.
I can carry on spinning after Iv'e nodded off too apparently but it isn't always pretty
