Hi,

We went to see Cornelia Funke's Ink Heart at the cinema on Sunday. It's very good. We took a 9 and 10 yo, the 10 yo has already read Ink Heart, Ink Spell and nearly finished Ink Death plus several of the others that aren't part of the trilogy. The 9yo has just received first two of Trilogy and the Igraine one from Santa.

The film is about a book binder who is a Silver Tongue, what he reads comes alive, he is looking for his wife who he believes disappeared into a book (Ink Heart) 9 years earlier, in the mean time he has characters wanting to return to the book, good and evil battling it out etc. Names escape me but the book binder is the Mummy guy, (Name on tip of tongue)the other main character Dust Finger is amongest others the monk in Da Vinci code,(Paul something v. good)  there are a few other familiar faces and Helen Mirren who's a blast!

A nice afternoon.

Beth

I've read the book.  It was OK.

I wonder how close to the book the film is?

To be honest not sure how close it is. Just bought book but won't have time to read it properly until girls go back to school.
