I can see them on the road ahead,
A hypnotic, bright and speeding light.
Baiting me to chase them,
But they drive faster than I do.

Shifting into second, I press on the gas,
Focused on its blazing trail.
Faster I go, time watches as I pass,
But my dreams drive faster cars.

Into third I charge, hoping,
Praying for my dreams to slow.
Further they sprint away from me,
Never stopping for gas.

Fourth gear now and still I fail,
Fail to catch my racing dreams.
Life slows my engine down,
And I no longer dash to keep up.

Will I ever catch them, who knows?
My dreams pull away out of reach.
My tank is empty and tyres flat,
And with my engine redlined, I race no more.

Yeah, quite a nice poem... and I'm not really one for poems, although I do like Edgar Allen Poe.

Doesn't matter how quick a car you have, someone always has one quicker, and no matter how quick you think it is when you buy it, within a couple of months you'd swear there was something wrong with it 'cos it doesn't feel quick at all
