Absolutely solid all day - lovely and white though - looked like Christmas without having snow. Had to break the ice on the duck's pond twice.

We had a really heavy - snow like - frost as well. Lovely to look at. When I went out to check the hens midday, it was melting in the sun. I've moved their water into their coop so it doesn't freeze so fast. So far, we've not had any frozen drinking water since I did that. 8 birds generate a lot of heat!
When I went out to put them away for the night, the ground had frozen up again. On the chicken wire, there was a 6mm deposit of ice. Looks stunning with the sun shining thru it.
