We have several ewe and entire ram lambs surplus to our requirements this year.
All are coloured and from pedigree parents - the ram being a Melton Mowbray show and sale winner.
We will be separating the lambs this weekend.
Please pm for more details |

The new ladies from Brackens have settled in very well. They are still on their own by the big shed and one of them is getting quite brave in approaching me, must be the food I have in my bucket
They have all said hello to Garthe over the fence so hopefully they can get better aquainted later in the year. I will leave them where they are as long as there is grass there so they get used to me and the shed just incase they need to go in. I don't want a repeat of Blossoms reaction last year.
I hope Garthe will be big enough (height wise you understand ) I am really looking forward to Shetland lambs now. In fact, this is the time of year to start getting everything into shape for tupping and I'm getting excited again now. Wait for spring and I will be chewing my nails and checking rear ends every five minutes again, can't wait.

I'm glad they are settling in ok - some of the lambs went on Monday - what a palaver getting them penned.
We should have left them in the small enclosure....

Hello Sass,
The ones I have bought from Bracken are not lambs in fact they had a lamb themselves this year. It is Garthe who was born this spring. He still has plenty of growing to do but I will give him a chance as I know he should be capable. Question is,will his lack of experience let him down but it wont hurt to let him try. I will probably put them with Jack after a couple of weeks just to be sure but I am hoping he will manage.

I once bought a tup lamb from Shetland and my OH drove to ferry terminal in Aberdeen to collect him, reversed the Landie to the shed to load him and a man came out with this tiny scrap in his arms!! When he put him in with the big Jacob girls he ran and hid, and they, the huzzies, chased him. Didn't see any action but the girls all gave birth to twins and singles 5 months + to the day. He was white and exceedingly handsome and I sold him at Thainstone - I think he went to a farm near Huntly with Shetlands. They are amazing sheep! _________________ Local food - better by far! |
