Aberdeen - between North Anderson Drive and Foresterhill Hospital. Hideous building! Though Comm 5 has been done up - you should see the others! I'm there a lot.

Don't know yet. Just out of interest - the emerging plan basics are

remember development is industrial and employment land and houses - sorry to be patronising but a lot of folk just think of it as houses!

50% of all development within Aberdeen City
25% of development in the Huntly to Laurencekirk rail corridor and looking at the possibilities of having another corridor from Aberdeen to Peterhead. This is because Peterhead is a deepwater port (deeper than Aberdeen) and there is an option to improve sea freight in Britian and Europe.

The other 25% of development is spread throughout the shire and would be allocated in the next local plan. The idea is to improve employment opportunities in rural areas but there would be more housing planned too - I can't remember the housing numbers off hand but it is a large number - the plan is to speed up the pace of development in the area as there is such enormous demand for both employment land and housing - this may also slow down house price rises and improve the situation for key workers (though I've never quite worked out why teachers are more important than scaffies! specially when scaffies have poorer pay)

So - do you agree with that or not - it is a hard decision and a lot of people will be concerned about the scale of development proposed.

I am particularly concerned about the amount of development proposed in Aberdeen - they had a lot of trouble getting the last local plan passed and the next one will be no better - they will have to allocate a lot of green belt for development and that may be unacceptable.
