well we've known for a while if it wasn't gonna be BSkyB then somebody would, so Carphone have stepped up:

Quote:
Carphone Warehouse is to buy the UK assets of Italian internet service provider Tiscali for £236m.

The deal, which is expected to be completed by the end of June, will create the UK's largest home broadband provider with 4.25m subscribers.

considering how woeful the Talk Talk service has been (according to  everything I've read and the poor unfortunates I've spoken to) , I'm seriously looking at swapping my supplier.

anybody else on here with tiscali ?

Yes, I've been with Tiscali for some years now and have had no issues with the service.  I've not had any experience with Talk Talk, but have just received the e-mail notifying me of this change and that nothing will change regarding the service (we'll see)
I must admit, I didn't even realise it was Italian though......learn something new every day!

I've never had any problem with tiscali either, but I've heard nothing but complaints about TalkTalk. and considering we seem to be the only 2 tiscali customers in the country who don't  have anything to complain about, I'm not exactly full of confidence that C W taking over is such a good thing..
wait and see I guess (that 16mb deal from virgin is looking real tempting though...)

It doesn't matter who we go with - at the moment we are with Tiscali, but we are fairly new with them and have a 12 month contract
The most our phone line can produce is 1mb. Not too bad when only one of is at home but if we both try to be on line at the same time it slows down to walking speed.

I was with Tiscali but got fed up with the lack of service and poor customer care so jumped to the post office a few weeks ago.
