Me too. Not good news at all.
Forget-me-not and I are due to go on a bee-keeping course in Jan. I'm looking forward to learning all I can. |

Just put my name down with the local beekeepers association - going to go to their monthly meetings to learn how to do it, with a view to starting beekeeping in the spring! If anyone's interested, the recommendation is to seek out your local association who'll help get you going! 8)
In my humble opinion, FAR more important than stupid financial meltdowns! _________________ http://solarwind.org.uk |

Here here!
Didn't think. If anyones interested in the Jan course...here's the message Forget-me-not forwarded to me. We will be travelling together...and think there is one other person travelling with us. Still leaves room for 2 more in the car (hope this ok fmn?)
Here's the info from Aberdeen and District Beekeepers Association.
| Quote: | Hello,
Thanks for your beekeeping enquiry. We normally run Beginners' Classes from mid January-March (7 weeks) in Harlaw Academy, Aberdeen. Dates have still to be confirmed. These classes are followed up with practical demonstrations at our Association Apiary at SAC Craibstone, Bucksburn. All classes and demos are free of charge.
There is no need to enrol for any of these classes and there is no limit on how many we can take! Just turn up on the night and you will be very welcome. I will hopefully be able to confirm dates in a couple of weeks.
I have attached some information about the Association and our most recent newsletter - this is just to whet you appetite!
Regards
|
I can forward you the info if you pm me with your email. |

The course is very recommendable. Unfortunately, the practical part coincides with lambing, so I've never been able to do it. _________________ Ina |
