The stuff in jars is universally disgusting-some sort of gloopy nondescript concoction.My fears were confirmed on one of the"whats in our food"type programmes-allsorts of artificial things to create the gloop.
Homemade=Cooking apples,sugar and a touch of water-nothing else.Delicious!!! _________________ Don't judge a book by it's cover. |

Yep, with you on that one. I've never tried the jar stuff, but as it's so simple anyway, why bother? _________________ "God and our archers made them stumble" Agincourt, 25 October 1415 |

Agree - the jar stuff is like babyfood. _________________ Neeps Flickr Group - check out some of the fab photos from other Neepsters and share some of your own. |

When I was a kid, my Mum always used baby apple for sauce.
Not that I ever ate it with my roast pig as I prefer my savoury and sweet to be separate. I'd finish it off with a bit of top of the milk - hey I loved that, bloomin universal homogenisation means my kids have never had that pleasure
A long way round of saying, when we have guests I do make it myself _________________ “I was not. I have been. I am not. I do not mind.”

That reminded me.If I was ill when I was small my mum used to treat me to a tin of heinz baby apple.She also used it for apple sauce.It was a bit bland but I don't think gloop had been invented then so it wasn't too bad. _________________ Don't judge a book by it's cover. |

One reason for making it myself is, for me, always that I can leave out the sugar! _________________ Ina |
